What is the difference between work packages and milestones?

A work package is a combination of multiple processes relevant for the project. This includes tasks, times and expenditures. A milestone is the definition of a specific point in the project. When the milestone has been reached, all subordinated processes should have been completed.

Work packages

Work packages can be created within projects. To do this, simply open a project and click on the tab "Work packages" followed by button "New work package". The value that is inserted under "Time planning" is then displayed as the expected time on the dashboard for the project.

Clicking on the work package you have just created allows you to open it and, at the bottom left, assign tasks, times and expenditures to the work package.

Milestones

Work packages can be created within projects. To do this, simply open a project and click on the tab "Milestones" followed by button "New milestone". You cannot execute any status actions for milestones. The milestone is only "passed" when the specified date has been exceeded. If you have defined another milestone, this only begins when the previous milestone has exceeded its "End date".

Clicking on the milestone you have just created allows you to open it and, at the bottom left, assign tasks, times and expenditures to the milestone.
